Description

The e-print server provides Windows NT with a service that enables all printers available to that Window NT server to receive print jobs from the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP).

IPP is a protocol that is on a standards track with the IETF. The IETF is a standards body that is responsible for the base protocols that have brought about the widespread use of the Internet including http, ftp, smtp and others.

The E-print Server leverages the functionality provided by the e-print Engine and augments it to act as a full functional IPP server. The e-print Server comes in standard and secure versions. The standard version implements provide all the functionality required to receive print jobs from the Internet or Intranet. The secure version augments this functionality by providing an implementation of the TLS protocol to ensure secure communication between the IPP client and server.
